President Droupadi Murmu highlighted India’s increasing standing as a global center for reasonably priced medical travel on Tuesday. She said that each year, tourists from all over the world come to India to take advantage of its medical facilities, underscoring the nation’s important role in providing high-quality, reasonably priced healthcare.
President Murmu was speaking at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences’ (AIIMS) first convocation in Mangalagiri, which is situated in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district. She commended the work of Indian physicians, pointing out that their skill and commitment had allowed them to hold important positions in developed nations. The President went on to say that doctors are essential to India’s growth as a key hub for reasonably priced medical treatment.
She urged the recently graduated medical professionals to commit themselves to helping people because becoming a doctor gives them priceless chances to save lives and advance health. In order to succeed, she suggested that the doctors concentrate on three essential areas: service orientation, learning orientation, and research orientation. She also emphasized that as celebrity is a reflection of respect and recognition gained from service, doctors should put fame over riches.
The President urged medical practitioners to take a holistic approach to healthcare, emphasizing the connection between life and health. According to her, every medical professional should be guided by the ideas of promoting holistic health and guaranteeing everyone’s health. She cited the Cytogenetics Laboratory at AIIMS Mangalagiri as an illustration of how new research and solutions may assist address the changing issues in the medical industry.
Murmu further emphasized that inclusive healthcare is a national objective and advised the young physicians to concentrate on delivering medical care, especially in rural, tribal, and isolated areas. She conveyed her hope that the physicians will fulfil this duty with diligence and help create a developed, prosperous, and healthy India.
The President was particularly pleased to see more women entering the medical field, pointing out that their important contributions demonstrate India’s development as a developed nation. She recognized that women are excellent in every subject if given the chance.
Following the convocation, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu pledged the state government’s ongoing support for the growth of AIIMS Mangalagiri and approved the addition of 10 acres of land for the institute’s expansion.
