PM Modi Unveils ₹12,850 Crore Health Projects, Emphasizes Five Pillars of Health Policy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the government’s dedication to the health and well-being of its citizens on October 29 by launching a number of health initiatives at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi. He introduced the five pillars of the central government’s health policy during his speech, emphasizing the importance of health for the advancement of the country: preventive healthcare, timely diagnosis, affordable medications and treatment, proper healthcare in small towns and villages, and the expansion of technology in the healthcare industry.

PM Modi further connected the celebration of health and prosperity to Indian tradition by sending out joyful greetings for Dhanteras and Dhanwantari Diwas. He was proud of Ayurveda and pointed out that more than 150 nations celebrate Ayurveda Diwas, demonstrating its increasing global awareness. He cited the age-old proverb “arogyam paramam bhagyam,” which translates to “health is wealth,” highlighting the importance of Ayurveda in the current conversation about health.

His unveiling of the Ayushman Bharat initiative, which intends to give the poor medical coverage of up to ₹5 lakh, was a major focus of his address. About 4 crore people have benefited from this effort, which was created to lessen the financial burden of healthcare, according to PM Modi. He described the hardships that low-income families encountered, where the expense of medical care frequently forced them to sell their jewelry and real estate, resulting in extreme poverty. To shield these susceptible populations from financial hardship brought on by medical conditions, the Ayushman Bharat program was established.

In keeping with an electoral pledge, the prime minister underlined the government’s determination to provide the Ayushman Yojana to all seniors over 70. The goal of this program is to guarantee that senior citizens can obtain essential medical treatment without worrying about the potentially debilitating costs.

During the occasion, Modi announced health sector projects totaling about ₹12,850 crore, which represents a substantial investment in the nation’s healthcare system. He restated that the government’s health policy prioritizes the wellbeing of its citizens, guaranteeing fair access to high-quality healthcare, and that a healthy populace speeds up national development.

In conclusion, PM Modi’s speech emphasized the relationship between economic development, culture, and health, reaffirming the government’s commitment to expanding access to healthcare for everyone, especially underserved groups. A larger vision of a healthier, more prosperous India is reflected in the introduction of the Ayushman Bharat plan and the emphasis on Ayurveda.
