The world-famous leader in health technology, Philips, has partnered with the well-known Indian cardiac care facility, Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences (NICS), to commemorate the first anniversary of their ground-breaking Center of Excellence (CoE) for echocardiography training. With regard to providing specialized training through the ELiTE (Experience Learning and Training in Echocardiography) program, this CoE is the first and only institution of its kind in the nation.
Since its beginning, the ELiTE program has advanced significantly thanks to the competent direction of renowned non-invasive cardiology expert Dr. Satish Govind. ELiTE, an immersive offline training project, has effectively enhanced the skills of 200 healthcare professionals, including as physicians, intensivists, cardiologists, and sonographers. This accomplishment demonstrates how well it can improve clinical proficiency in echocardiography, a crucial diagnostic technique in cardiovascular care.
The nine modules that make up the 136-hour training program cover critical care (POCUS), fetal echo, adult and pediatric echo, and other important specializations. The technology partner Philips offers participants practical workshops and exposure to state-of-the-art echocardiography technologies. Modern ultrasound equipment and software from Philips are donated, allowing medical professionals to take full advantage of these resources for accurate and thorough patient treatment.Chief Ultrasound Officer for Philips Indian Subcontinent Sachin Grover expressed satisfaction with ELiTE’s accomplishments in its first year as a CoE. He emphasized how the program has expanded access to advanced training in high-quality healthcare and thanked Narayana Health for their joint efforts to enhance medical education and technological innovation. The program’s goal, as stressed by Dr. Satish Govind, is to improve echocardiography standards and guarantee precise diagnoses, which are crucial for controlling India’s high rate of cardiovascular illnesses. The program’s dual focus on cardiologists and physicians from various specialties is intended to provide them with skills related to echocardiography, which reflects the technology’s wider influence on healthcare delivery across the country.
After completing each module successfully, the ELiTE program grants certifications and medical council credits approved by the Karnataka Medical Council. This accreditation promotes participants’ continued professional growth and strengthens the program’s credibility.
Philips’ objective to improve healthcare delivery globally through innovation and education is in line with its commitment to upskilling Indian healthcare personnel. This dedication is demonstrated by the collaboration with Narayana Health, which highlights their mutual objective of enhancing patient outcomes by ongoing education and the use of cutting-edge technology. To sum up, in terms of improving clinical skills and increasing access to cutting-edge healthcare solutions, the ELiTE program has not only met but surpassed expectations in its first year as a specialized CoE for echocardiography training in India. Philips and Narayana Health are in a strong position to further improve India’s healthcare system and make sure that medical professionals are prepared to handle the changing demands of cardiovascular care with continued assistance and cooperation.
