Patient Undergoes 15-Hour Complex Cardiac Surgery in Noida After Unusual Hoarseness Symptom

According to a statement from Kailash Hospital and Heart Institute in Sector 27, Noida, a patient in Noida who reported an odd symptom of hoarseness in his voice underwent a successful 15-hour cardiac surgery. Dr. Satish Mathew, the hospital’s chief cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon, oversaw a team of cardiac surgery specialists that treated the patient, Bishan Singh Bisht.

When Bisht first arrived at the hospital, his main complaint was hoarseness in his voice, which is not usually connected to cardiac issues. Following a battery of diagnostic procedures, the medical staff determined that he had a life-threatening orange-sized aortic aneurysm in the main aorta, which may burst. Bisht’s risk of a heart attack was further increased by the tests’ discovery that two major arteries that provide blood to his heart were obstructed.

Because of how serious Bisht’s situation was, Dr. Mathew and his colleagues came up with a three-step surgical plan to make sure he lived. Because the patient’s life was in immediate danger from both the clogged arteries and the aortic aneurysm, the treatment was exceedingly complicated.

An off-pump coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), which circumvents the clogged arteries to restore heart blood flow, was the initial step in the process. In order to guarantee that the brain would have enough blood flow for the duration of the surgery, the researchers used artificial tubes to build a new blood supply to the brain in the second step. In the third stage, a Valiant Captiva endograft—a customized device that guides blood flow to the lower body—was used to reinforce the weaker aorta.

After a 15-hour operation, Bisht remained under constant observation to guarantee a speedy recovery for seven days. Bisht was released in a stable condition after the medical team gave him a comprehensive evaluation.

Dr. Mathew highlighted how difficult the procedure was and how well it worked. He mentioned that the hospital had operated on more than 5,000 hearts and veins in the past 20 years, solidifying its standing as a top provider of cardiovascular care.

Even if the initial symptoms may not seem related to heart problems, the example emphasizes the value of early detection and specialist surgical techniques in the treatment of complex cardiovascular disorders.
