Minimum qualifications have been established by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for postgraduate courses in the medical area. These regulations include the following topics: the creation of new medical facilities; the start of new medical programs; the extension of enrollment in current programs; and compliance with the Assessment and Rating Regulations of 2023, which include Section 3.4 of the Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulation-2023. In order to keep pace with the increase in hospital beds, the directive highlights the necessity of increasing professors, facilities, and support personnel in certain departments, including radiodiagnosis, anesthesia, pathology, microbiology, and biochemistry.
Every teaching department in a medical facility is required by Requirement to provide a classroom with audio-visual equipment. A sufficient number of students should be able to fit in this space to perform clinical case discussions and demonstrations. Effective teaching and learning are facilitated by the audio-visual setup, particularly when medical case studies are included.
The requirement for full-time faculty members is emphasized in requirement . It is anticipated of these faculty members that they will not conduct private practices during the designated college hours. This is done to make sure that academic staff members are available for teaching, research, and other duties during regular business hours and are totally devoted to their tasks in the medical facility.
The National Medical Commission has mandated that every medical college have a certain number of closed-circuit cameras in specific places.
Every college or institute needs to have a website that includes information about departments, facilities that are available, faculty connections, postgraduate courses with seat numbers, facts about admitted students, and the clinical workload (OPD, IPD, and Surgeries) for each department independently.
