Man Arrested for Impersonating Doctor and Operating Fake Clinic in Malwani

Abdul Aziz, 41, has been taken into custody by police for reportedly pretending to be a doctor and running an unlicensed clinic in Malwani, Mumbai. For the last two years, Aziz, a resident of Bandra (West), had been tricking the locals by posing as Dr. Shaikh Parvez Abdul Aziz, a duly qualified doctor from Jogeshwari.

The fraudulent practices were discovered by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) during a routine check. Aziz had been operating an Aziz Polyclinic clinic at Khan Compound on Joseph Patel Road in Malwani, it was discovered during the inspection. Assistant Medical Officer Amol Chauhan is the complainant in this case. He found out about the impersonation while carrying out his job of tracking down unregistered practitioners in impoverished areas.

Police said that Aziz had tricked patients by using Dr. Shaikh Parvez Abdul Aziz’s name and credentials, which were those of a licensed physician. Aziz fraudulently claimed to have finished his MBBS in 2004 and claimed to hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree. He had even put up a placard outside his clinic with his Maharashtra Medical Council registration number. However, the genuine Dr. Shaikh Parvez Abdul Aziz, a resident of Vaishali Nagar in Jogeshwari, was the owner of this registration number.

When Chauhan double-checked the registration number that Aziz had given with the BMC’s official records as part of his inspection responsibilities, the fraud was discovered. Subsequent inquiry into the disparities showed that the number belonged to the actual Jogeshwari doctor, not the accused. The police moved to prosecute Aziz as a result of this discovery.

Aziz’s actions included pretending to be a doctor, running an unlicensed clinic, and making false claims to medical credentials. The investigation is still ongoing, and in order to learn more about the scope of Aziz’s fraudulent activities, authorities are also investigating the companies who provide Aziz’s clinic with medications.

Abdul Aziz’s arrest brings to light important problems with impersonation and unlicensed practice in the medical industry. It emphasizes how crucial it is to conduct thorough examinations and verifications to guarantee that healthcare personnel hold the right credentials and that patients are treated by licensed experts. The incident serves as a warning about the dangers that unlicensed medical professionals might pose as well as the necessity of strict supervision in hospital environments.
