Recently, the Gudamba police in Lucknow discovered a troubling child trafficking ring run by Dr. Bhuneshwar Yadav, a physician who runs a private clinic. Targeting low-income families and enticing them with cash promises, the operation encompassed multiple gang members and sold the newborns to childless couples for substantial sums of money. To carry out their illicit business, the gang used a range of strategies, such as coercion, manipulation, and even kidnapping.
When a pregnant Nizampur Mallohar woman was harmed, the scam was exposed. Dr. Yadav operated Lakshmi Clinic, where she had given birth to a boy. In order to sell the newborn to a childless couple, the doctor and his colleagues coerced the wife, who already had children, into giving him up in exchange for cash after the birth. She was let to go with him after the mother refused and insisted on keeping her child, but the gang persisted in pursuing her.
When the woman went to a private hospital the following day, things took a bad turn. There, she met Shyama Kumari, a woman who recommended that the youngster consult a different physician. The mother gave her baby to Shyama so she could use the loo, but when she returned, Shyama had vanished with the infant.
The police opened an inquiry after the woman reported the event to them right away. Police were responding to a tip of a another child trafficking transaction close to Maurya Bhatt at the same time. Following a raid, two gang members, Muneshwar and Omveer, were apprehended after they were discovered negotiating the sale of a newborn. The cops also found a significant amount of cash—Rs 1.99 lakh—during the raid.
Although the authorities did not originally know who the baby’s mother was, the investigation ultimately resulted in the kidnapped child’s rescue. After seeing a video of the toddler, the lady recognized her child right away and called the Gudamba police. After then, the child was turned over to Childline services for safety and care.
The police are dedicated to bringing those guilty to jail, and they are still investigating the number of more children who may have been kidnapped and sold by the gang.
