Couple Alleges Medical Negligence at Sunder Nagar Civil Hospital After Newborn’s Death

Following the loss of their newborn child five days after delivery, a couple from Dadoh village has filed grave claims of medical malpractice against Sunder Nagar Civil Hospital. The pair, Dhani Ram and his wife Archana, assert that the infant died of organ failure as a result of problems during birth brought on by the hospital’s inability to provide appropriate medical care.

The couple claims that Archana had labor pains and was admitted to Sunder Nagar Civil Hospital on December 18. The couple claims that the hospital staff failed to offer prompt medical attention even though they were in agonizing pain for about 26 hours. Despite her protracted pain, Archana says the hospital did not choose to perform a caesarean section or refer her to another clinic. She claims that being asked to wait for a typical delivery instead caused her great distress.

Instead of the on-call physician, paramedical personnel allegedly performed Archana’s usual delivery on December 19. She claims that in order to help with the delivery, her stomach was squeezed against her will in the Laboure room. The newborn, who didn’t cry, was put on a machine right away before being taken to Nerchowk Medical College & Hospital. The newborn’s organs failed soon after birth, according to the couple, and the physicians ultimately blamed the failure on the baby’s prolonged foetal life. All prenatal testing came back normal, however the baby only lived for five days before passing away on December 23.

In addition to submitting thorough reports to the hospital administration, local MLAs, and the Health Minister, the couple has lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister’s Helpline (1100). Dhani Ram has called for rigorous action against the hospital employees implicated in the alleged wrongdoing as well as a comprehensive investigation into the occurrence. The family is pursuing justice for the death of their child, arguing that the unfortunate event was caused by the hospital’s poor handling of the delivery.

Mandi’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Narendra Bhardwaj, responded by confirming that an investigation has been opened into the situation. He said he had been in touch with another doctor engaged in the case and the SMO (Senior Medical Officer), who was on leave. In order to ascertain the circumstances behind the newborn’s death, a fact-finding report has also been ordered. Examining the treatment inadequacies and ensuring responsibility for the incident are the goals of the investigation.
