Chitrakoot Police Rescue Kidnapped Newborn Girl, Arrest Five in Child Trafficking Case

A baby girl who had been abducted was safely rescued by police in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, and five of the abductors were taken into custody. The operation, carried out by the police in Chitrakoot, provides insight into a concerning instance of child trafficking that has received a lot of attention.

In the village of Tikaria, Sunil and Gunja gave birth to a baby girl. Five people approached Sunil after the baby was born, luring him in with promises of financial support. They stated that he would be eligible for ₹50,000 in government assistance for the infant. They forced Sunil to go with them to Karwi in Chitrakoot, ostensibly to take the infant for a vaccination. Once there, the abductors tricked Sunil into believing they had to photocopy some documents so they could leave him there and go off with the baby.

The local police filed a kidnapping report at the Markundi police station after Sunil reported the occurrence. The Special Operations Group (SOG) was quickly dispatched by the authorities to look into the situation. Police identified a WagonR automobile and a motorcycle as the cars engaged in the incident after making thorough investigations and reviewing CCTV footage. They were able to locate the suspects with the help of this crucial piece of evidence.

One of the suspects, identified as Jaswant Prajapati, revealed that he had paid ₹10,000 for the infant girl during questioning. Prajapati’s motivation was self-desperation; his wife had been childless for a decade, which had earned them mockery in their community. In order to highlight the seriousness of the crime, authorities added charges of child trafficking to the case in response to this discovery.

When police successfully retrieved the newborn from a private hospital in Kaushambi on Sunday, the operation came to an end. All five of the abduction suspects were taken into custody. Santosh Mistry from Kaushambi, Sudhir Singh (also known as Doctor), Amit Patel, Jaswant Prajapati, Guddu Devi from Chitrakoot, an ASHA employee, and Guddu Devi are among those detained.

Arun Kumar Singh, the superintendent of police in Chitrakoot, verified the arrests and described the series of actions that culminated in the rescue. The tragedy serves as a reminder of the vulnerability of babies and the extent people will go to in order to have children. It emphasizes how crucial it is to maintain vigilante and efficient police enforcement in order to stop child trafficking and safeguard vulnerable groups.

This tragedy highlights the need for greater awareness and protective measures in communities throughout India and serves as a reminder of the continued difficulties in addressing child abduction and trafficking.
