On August 4, 2024, the Hon’ble Minister of State for AYUSH and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Mr. Prataprao Jadhav, accompanied by the Hon’ble Health Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, was received by Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur.
AIIMS Raipur, which formerly only had one cath lab capable of performing more than 150 cardiac catheterization procedures per month (including angioplasties, pacemakers, CRT-D, ICD, and device closures of ASD, VSD, and PDA), has opened a state-of-the-art second cath lab. With this state-of-the-art facility, the number of angiographies and angioplasties performed is anticipated to increase significantly. Mr. Prataprao Jadhav inaugurated the facility. This will shorten wait times for patients and improve the hospital’s ability to deliver prompt, effective cardiac treatment.
Furthermore, the new lab will develop a new generation of highly qualified cardiologists by acting as an essential teaching ground for medical students enrolled in the DM Cardiology program.
Mr. Jadhav carefully inspected the patient care facilities while touring various important departments, such as the trauma and emergency department, the emergency pediatric department, and the AYUSH department. His tour demonstrated the organization’s dedication to provide all-encompassing, integrated healthcare services.
The Hon’ble Minister met productively with the AIIMS Raipur Executive Director, Deans, and Medical Superintendent after the tour.
He praised the organization for its first-rate medical resources and offerings, naming AIIMS Raipur as a regional leader in medicine.
