With the creation of a medical device park, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government is making major efforts to strengthen the country’s medical device manufacturing sector and increase exports. By enhancing connectivity, logistics, and access to land resources across many authorities, an official spokesperson presented a detailed action plan intended to boost the export of medical devices made locally.
The creation of a digital IT platform for the Export Promotion Council-Medical Device (EPC-MD) that is based on mobile apps is at the heart of this project. In order to facilitate project approvals and assist the state’s medical device manufacturing, this platform will include a web portal and other IT technologies. The platform seeks to efficiently promote exports and support the expansion of the medical device industry by integrating contemporary technology.
The first medical device park in North India is being created by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). It would be 350 acres in size and be built in two stages. Benefits including discounted utilities, warehouse space, and reimbursement for quality certifications, patent fees, and skill development will be available to businesses who get allotments in this park. The goal of this strategy is to improve the total infrastructure required for the production of medical devices.
In addition to enhancing project supervision via role-based access, the digital platform will have cutting-edge features including real-time deployment capabilities, disaster recovery procedures, and three-layered security. Furthermore, features like payment gateway installations and social media integration will help exporters run their businesses more efficiently.
Giving exporters advice and assistance, promoting Indian medical products in other markets, and resolving trade and regulatory concerns are some of the initiative’s main goals. The platform will act as a one-stop shop to assist manufacturers in overcoming production and quality standards issues, with the ultimate goal of increasing the medical device industry’s worldwide competitiveness in Uttar Pradesh.
In addition, the UP government is dedicated to promoting its medical device industry’s contributions on global stages, creating an atmosphere that is conducive to innovation and expansion. Through improved manufacturing capabilities and export potential, this project aims to improve local economic conditions while simultaneously positioning Uttar Pradesh as a major player in the global medical device industry.
