A fight broke out between a trauma center resident doctor and one of the patient’s attendants on Wednesday morning at SMS Hospital in Jaipur. The doctor was hurt in the event, and as a result, the Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD) has called for more protection, including the presence of police officers in trauma centers and emergency rooms.
The argument allegedly started because the patient wasn’t happy with the care the resident physician was giving her. Significant security flaws that put medical personnel at danger of violence while doing their jobs have been brought to light by this altercation. The JARD president, Dr. Manohar Siyol, attested to the doctor’s injuries sustained in the altercation. He added that the association had notified Dr. Deepak Maheshwari, the medical college’s principal, about the occurrence and the security lapses that had led to the regrettable circumstance.
JARD has formally asked SMS Medical College to take prompt action in response to the event in order to guarantee the security and safety of all medical personnel on campus. The group has demanded that police officers be stationed in Jaipur’s emergency rooms and trauma centers around-the-clock in all government-run medical facilities. JARD claims that having police constables on duty around-the-clock will help stop these kinds of things from happening and give medical staff members the assurance and protection they need to work.
JARD further emphasized that all resident physicians employed by Jaipur government hospitals have decided to continue offering emergency care only in the event that police officers are stationed to maintain a secure working environment. This demand highlights the seriousness of the situation and the pressing necessity for action to shield medical personnel from hostility and violence.
