After a police inquiry, a dermatologist at a private nursing home in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was recently exonerated of charges of inappropriate behavior. The incident came to light when a lady accused the doctor of improperly touching her during an examination in a video that went viral on social media.
The woman’s accusations that the dermatologist had acted improperly while conducting a medical checkup sparked the dispute. The woman claimed that the dermatologist had touched her while she was being checked out for a skin condition. The local authorities were involved as a result of the allegation, which caused widespread worry.
According to Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena, the police looked into the situation right away. A review of the nursing home’s CCTV footage was part of the investigation. The dermatologist performed the checkup from outside the examination cubicle, according to the video. The video showed the doctor examining the lady under a magnification lens, and also verified that the patient’s husband was there in the cabin with her when the examination was done.
The dermatologist defended himself by stating that a female cabin staff member had originally evaluated the patient. He claimed that in accordance with protocol, he performed a follow-up inspection from outside the cabin. The patient left the nursing home after the checkup, only to come back and accuse the doctor of acting inappropriately.
Superintendent Meena met with the proprietors of the nursing homes and District Magistrate Umesh Pratap Singh to discuss the event. In order to avoid similar conflicts in the future, directives were given during the meeting to make sure the CCTV cameras on the property remained in service. Furthermore, a group was formed to conduct routine inspections of the assisted living facility to guarantee adherence to legal requirements.
The case emphasizes how crucial it is for healthcare providers to continue to be transparent and to keep accurate records. The investigation found no misconduct on the part of the dermatologist, but it did highlight how careful one must be when managing and responding to patient complaints. It has been suggested that the assisted living facility improve its oversight practices in order to head off future issues and guarantee the security and confidence of its residents.
