The government of Himachal Pradesh has declared that the Bulk medicine Park Project, a noteworthy endeavor to create a large-scale medicine manufacturing facility in the state, has brought about a huge improvement in the pharmaceutical sector. The project, which is expected to cost Rs 1,000 crore, will be overseen solely by the state government and cover 570 hectares in the Una district’s Haroli assembly sector, according to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The goal of the Bulk Drug Park Project is to build a comprehensive infrastructure for the pharmaceutical industry, which should strengthen the state’s standing in the market and strengthen the local economy. The state government will offer land and power to investors at discounted prices as part of the plan. In particular, power would be provided for Rs 3 per unit, which is much less expensive than the Rs 7 per unit that the government pays. In addition, the government will charge for waste management services, such as solid trash and steam, and provide water and other basic utilities at commercial prices.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that the terms and conditions of the project will be reviewed in ten years to make sure they were still applicable and advantageous to investors and the state. It is anticipated that the project will draw large investments, estimated at about Rs 50,000 crore, and generate over 20,000 employment, greatly boosting the local economy.
Congressman Kewal Singh Pathania questioned Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan on the Bulk Drug Park. Chauhan answered, outlining the government’s strategy and advancements. He stated that the project, which is scheduled to be finished by March 31, 2026, has already received approval for an amount of Rs 50 crore for its early phases. Additionally, the government is getting ready to refund the Rs 30 crore that the Union government had earlier given to this project.
When the previous BJP government signed deals for hydropower projects including Dhaulasidh, Luhri, and Sunni, the Chief Minister accused them of betraying the interests of the state. Sukhu asserted that these accords were signed against the interests of the state, suggesting that the current administration is resolving these problems through greater initiative and independence.
